Cheddar cheese, grapes, and ranch dressing. The recipe for the hottest new summer salad? Nope, just a couple of the things I hadn’t realized I missed until we got back to Bend. Yep, we are back. Two weeks shy of being away for two full years and we are almost home. I say almost because we are staying at Sara’s parents for a few more days while some work gets finished on our house, but we are in town and should be sleeping in our house by the weekend. I would say that coming home was simpler than leaving home, but not by much. We still ended up with twelve checked bags and one bike box for the four of us, but we made it. We landed last Thursday, hit Walgreens for Covid shots for those us who still needed them on Friday, and have been adjusting ever since.
It is funny because one, of many, of the unexpected outcomes of this whole adventure is that I have fallen in love with writing again. I never imagined that I would be writing a forty eighth post. I have really enjoyed trying to put our experience into words, and a big part of me will miss this. It was always meant to be a way to record our time abroad, but it also became a connection to so many friends and family that I didn’t anticipate. So thank you for coming along. Future updates are now available in person.
Until the next adventure,
Be safe, be happy, and be well.
With love and gratitude,
Adam, Sara, Lila and Hannah
